I have a 8 character password like gr4gdty7 that I need cracked. I am going to buy a product (http://www.rixler.com/purchase_wpasrec.htm) to simply decrypt the eight word files I need done as a once off job. I am a writer in my pass time and I do not have a lot of money right now.  The tool did not work for me.I needed to use it on SQL7 using MSDE 1 for sharepoint 10.x (an NT beta version)Any how it could not find any password info and could not read the format of the file even though it is still an mdf file.I tried a number of tools all with the same problem. It looks like the tools will not work with anything older than SQL2000. It did kind of say this but not in a clear way. I thought it was worth a try.
Its a bad software, there is no help available to understand. It keeps on throwing error even though sql services is stopped. very irritating.
